The industry’s first Ryder Cup style golfing challenge, the GMF Cup, is taking place on 21st to 24th September 2016 at The Belfry. The GM Fundraising team, along with the tournament captains and vice-captains, Gary Morton, John Hewitt, David Stockton-Chalke and Alan Sadler (standing in for Gary Torr) met at The Belfry last week to make the team draw.
“Twenty-four of the industry’s keenest golfers have signed up for this event,” comments Gary Morton, team captain and Chairman of GM Fundraising. “Along with the other team captains and vice-captains, we met at The Belfry to draw the names and split the players into two evenly matched teams of twelve.
“This is the first GMF pay to play event and is really set to be the industry’s premium golf event,” adds Adrian Barraclough, GM Fundraising team member. “The two teams will complete on The Belfry’s Brabazon Course that has seen some of golf’s most exhilarating dramas played out in its long history as the UK’s home of the Ryder Cup.
“We’re looking forward to seeing everyone on the 21st to raise as much money as we can for the children and families at Hope House Children’s Hospices”
Gary concludes: “We couldn’t be putting more effort into making this event a memorable one for all involved. Let the battle commence!”
